Root Canals & Extractions

There are several reasons a patient may need root canal therapy (RCT). Decay may have gotten so deep as to infect the nerve, a tooth may have cracked or there may be no obvious reason at all a tooth is hurting and has abscessed.

We can do RCT in our office in as little as 1 appointment. Using the latest in state of the art technology, we can remove the infected nerve from your tooth using our electric Rotary File handpiece. We also use this virtually silent handpiece to clean out the canals once the nerve is removed. After the canals are shaped, they are ready to be filled using a thermoplastic, heated gutta-percha filling, placed in the tooth using the latest in delivery technology, making the whole process quick, easy, and quiet. For our patients' protection, we use rubber dams for all of our endodontic procedures.

..... ..... ... .. ....

We also refer certain cases to local endodontists (dentists who specialize in root canals), depending on their degree of difficulty or predictable complications. Usually, endodontically treated teeth will need to be crowned once RCT treatment has been completed.

Simple extractions are performed in-office under profound local anesthesia, including third molars. Any complicated procedures, such as impacted wisdom teeth, severely decayed teeth or health-compromised patients will be refered to an oral surgeon.
